A warm Staffordshire red with gentle variation and a lightly worked face, drawing on a clay tradition better known for its blues. It gives an elevation warmth and consistency in equal measure, unfussy and straightforward to build with at any scale. A good background brick, in the sense that the windows and detailing get to do the talking.
